About Tether
Tether (USDT) is a fiat-backed stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the U.S. Dollar. Launched in 2014 by Tether Limited Inc., it is the most widely used stablecoin in the cryptocurrency market, providing liquidity and serving as a stable medium of exchange. USDT operates as a multi-chain asset, deployed across numerous networks including Ethereum, Tron, Solana, Avalanche, TON, and Aptos. Each token is intended to be 100% backed by Tether's reserves, which include traditional currency, cash equivalents, and U.S. Treasury bonds. Tether Limited, part of a broader ecosystem that includes divisions focused on AI, P2P technology, and sustainable Bitcoin mining, manages the asset's issuance. USDT does not have its own blockchain but operates as a token on top of other blockchains, secured by their respective consensus mechanisms.
