About Vote-escrowed CRV
Vote-escrowed CRV (veCRV) is the governance and rewards-accrual token of the Curve Finance ecosystem. It is obtained by locking CRV tokens for a specified duration (up to four years). veCRV holders participate in governance, receive a share of protocol fees, and earn boosted CRV rewards on liquidity providing positions. While veCRV itself is non-transferable, derivatives and vaults such as Yearn's yvBOOST (Yearn Compounding veCRV yVault) exist to optimize and compound these rewards by selling earned 3CRV for more CRV to be redeposited.
