About Algorand
ALGO is the native utility and governance token of the Algorand blockchain, a scalable, secure, and decentralized smart contract platform founded by MIT cryptographer Silvio Micali. The network utilizes a unique Pure Proof-of-Stake (PPoS) consensus mechanism, which democratizes participation by requiring only a single ALGO token to secure the network and participate in block production.
