Aerodrome Finance (AERO) is the native utility and governance token for the Aerodrome protocol, a next-generation automated market maker (AMM) and decentralized exchange (DEX) serving as the central liquidity hub for the Base network. Building on the features of Velodrome V2, the token utilizes a vote-lock governance model where users lock AERO tokens to receive veAERO NFTs. These NFTs allow holders to vote on token emission distribution and earn a share of protocol trading fees and incentives. AERO is designed to drive high-efficiency trading and act as a powerful liquidity engine within the Base ecosystem.
