About Bancor
Bancor Network Token (BNT) is the native utility and governance token of the Bancor ecosystem, a decentralized network of protocols designed to facilitate on-chain trading and liquidity. BNT is primarily used for staking to participate in the BancorDAO, which governs the ecosystem's flagship products, including Carbon (an asymmetric liquidity and automated trading protocol) and Fast Lane (an arbitrage protocol). Originally known for inventing the first blockchain-based automated market maker (AMM) in 2017, the Bancor protocol uses BNT as a common reserve asset to enable instant, formulaic price discovery and liquidity for various tokens without the need for traditional counterparties.
