About Chainlink
Chainlink (LINK) is a decentralized oracle network and the industry standard for connecting smart contracts with real-world, off-chain data. It solves the "oracle problem" by enabling blockchains to securely interact with external data feeds, web APIs, and traditional payment systems in a tamper-proof manner. Beyond its core data oracle services, the ecosystem features the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) for secure cross-chain messaging and token transfers, Proof of Reserve (PoR) for verifying collateral in real-time, and decentralized automation for smart contract functions. The LINK token is an ERC-20 utility asset used to pay node operators for services, fund subscription accounts, and secure the network through staking incentives where operators provide collateral to ensure data accuracy. Chainlink has established itself as critical infrastructure for both DeFi and institutional adoption, partnering with global entities such as Swift, Mastercard, and S&P Global to bridge the gap between traditional finance and blockchain technology.
