About Yearn Finance
Yearn Finance (YFI) is the governance token for the yearn.finance protocol, a prominent decentralized asset management platform and yield aggregator. Launched in July 2020 by Andre Cronje via a 'fair launch' distribution, YFI allows holders to participate in protocol governance and earn a share of protocol revenue. The protocol automates yield generation by moving capital between various lending platforms—such as AAVE, Compound, and Curve—to maximize returns. Its flagship product, 'Vaults' (yVaults), enables users to pool assets to socialize gas costs and execute complex, community-driven yield farming strategies across multiple blockchains including Ethereum, Base, and Fantom.
