About Balancer
BAL is the native governance and utility token for Balancer, a decentralized automated market making (AMM) protocol. The protocol allows for the creation of self-balancing liquidity pools with multiple assets and customizable weights, acting as both a decentralized exchange and a programmatic portfolio manager. BAL holders participate in protocol governance by voting on proposals and managing the Balancer ecosystem. Launched in 2020, the protocol has evolved through multiple versions (V1, V2, and V3) and is deployed across numerous networks including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, and Avalanche.
