About Energy Web Token
Energy Web Token (EWT) is the native utility token of the Energy Web ecosystem, a decentralized technology platform designed for energy and sustainability markets. It serves as the primary mechanism for securing and operating the network, which includes the Energy Web X (EWX) nominated proof-of-stake blockchain and a Verified Compute Cloud for off-chain business logic. EWT is used to compensate network operators and pay for decentralized application services. While originally launched on the Energy Web Chain (EWC), the token now primarily circulates as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, which acts as a settlement and custody layer, connected to the EWX network via a validator-governed bridge.
