Kaspa (KAS) is the native utility token of the Kaspa network, a fast and scalable Layer-1 blockchain utilizing a proof-of-work (PoW) consensus mechanism. It is powered by the GHOSTDAG protocol, a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) structure that allows for parallel blocks and instant transaction confirmation. Launched in November 2021 with no pre-mine or pre-sale, KAS functions as a digital medium of exchange and the primary asset for securing the network through mining, aiming to fulfill a decentralized, security-first vision of digital money with high block rates and minimal latency.
