About OKB
OKB is the native utility token of the OKX (formerly OKEx) cryptocurrency exchange ecosystem. Issued by the OK Blockchain Foundation, it serves as the fuel for OKX's blockchain infrastructure, including OKTC (formerly OKExChain) and X Layer. OKB provides users with various benefits within the exchange platform, such as trading fee discounts, access to the OKX Jumpstart launchpad, and participation in exclusive marketing campaigns. While originally launched as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum with a total supply of 1 billion, OKX transitioned to a buy-back and burn model. A significant governance update scheduled for August 2025 involves a one-time burn of repurchased and reserved tokens to transition the asset to a fixed total supply of 21 million tokens.
