About OMG Network
OMG Network (formerly OmiseGO) is a non-custodial, layer-2 scaling solution built on the Ethereum blockchain. It is designed to enable the transfer of ETH and ERC20 tokens with significantly higher throughput and lower fees than the Ethereum mainnet. The OMG token is the native utility asset of the network, used for transaction fees and as a staking mechanism to secure the network's MoreViable Plasma-based architecture. Originally developed by the payments processor Omise, the project aims to facilitate cross-border remittances, rewards points, and electronic wallet interoperability.
