About Zilliqa
ZIL is the native utility token of the Zilliqa network, a high-throughput Layer 1 blockchain platform. Launched in 2017, Zilliqa was the first public blockchain to implement sharding technology, which allows for parallel transaction processing to improve scalability and reduce network congestion. The ZIL token is used to pay for transaction fees, execute smart contracts, and secure the network through its Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism. The platform is designed to support high-performance decentralized applications and is fully EVM-compatible.
