About Aave v3 WETH
aWETH (Aave interest-bearing WETH) is an interest-bearing token issued by the Aave protocol. It is minted when Wrapped Ether (WETH) is deposited into the Aave lending market and is burned upon withdrawal. The value of aWETH is pegged 1:1 to the value of the underlying WETH asset, and its balance increases in real-time as interest is accrued from borrowers within the Aave ecosystem. It is available across multiple versions of the Aave protocol (v2 and v3) and various blockchain networks.
