FLR is the native utility and governance token of the Flare Network, an EVM-based Layer 1 blockchain focused on data interoperability. The token is used for network transaction fees, staking in validator nodes to secure the network, and participating in governance. FLR can be wrapped into WFLR to be delegated to the Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO) data providers or used within the ecosystem's decentralized applications. The asset powers Flare's mission to provide smart contracts with trustless access to high-integrity data from other blockchains and the internet.
