It serves as the primary currency for paying gas fees on the Mantle Network and is used by holders to participate in DAO governance and staking. MNT was established following a 1:1 migration from BitDAO (BIT) to unify the ecosystem's brand and tokenomics, supporting a suite of products including the mETH Protocol and FBTC.
