Moonriver (MOVR) is the native utility and governance token of the Moonriver network, a fully Ethereum-compatible smart contract parachain on Kusama. As a companion network to Moonbeam, Moonriver serves as a permanently incentivized canary network where new code is tested under real economic conditions before being deployed to Polkadot. The MOVR token is central to the ecosystem, used for paying transaction fees, supporting gas metering, incentivizing collators, and enabling on-chain governance participation.
