About Ontology
Ontology (ONT) is the native utility and governance token of the Ontology network, a high-performance public blockchain and distributed trust collaboration platform. Launched in 2017 by the Chinese company OnChain, Ontology utilizes a dual-token model consisting of ONT and ONG (Ontology Gas). ONT is used for staking to secure the network and participate in governance, while ONG is used for transaction fees and smart contract execution. The platform is designed to provide businesses with a flexible framework that supports both private and public blockchains, featuring a distributed digital identity (DID) framework and data exchange protocols to facilitate secure Web3 interactions.
