About Synthetix
Synthetix (SNX) is the native utility and governance token of the Synthetix protocol, a decentralized perpetual futures and synthetic asset platform built on Ethereum. Originally launched as Havven, the token is used as collateral to back the issuance of synthetic assets (Synths) and the sUSD stablecoin, and to underwrite the Synthetix Liquidity Provider (SLP) vault. By staking SNX, holders secure the protocol, earn fees from trading activity, and participate in governance. The protocol provides on-chain exposure to a wide range of real-world assets—including currencies, commodities, and indices—through a hybrid design that utilizes off-chain order matching with on-chain settlement for high performance and liquidity.
