THETA is the native governance token of the Theta Network, a decentralized cloud infrastructure for AI, media, and entertainment. Operating within a dual-token system alongside Theta Fuel (TFUEL), THETA is primarily used for staking as a Validator or Guardian node, contributing to the security and governance of the blockchain. The network consists of the Theta Blockchain, an EVM-compatible smart contract platform, and the Theta Edge Network, which provides distributed GPU compute power for tasks such as AI model training, video transcoding, and 3D rendering. THETA holders can vote on protocol upgrades and earn TFUEL as a reward for their participation in securing the network.
