About Verge
Verge (XVG) is a decentralized, open-source cryptocurrency launched in 2014 (originally as DogecoinDark) with a primary focus on privacy and anonymity. It utilizes multiple anonymity-centric networks, such as Tor and I2P, to obfuscate user IP addresses and transaction data. Verge employs the Wraith Protocol, which allows users to switch between public and private ledgers on the same blockchain. As a Proof-of-Work (PoW) asset, it supports five different mining algorithms (Scrypt, Lyra2rev2, X17, blake2s, and myr-groestl) to promote network decentralization and inclusion. The asset is designed for high-speed transactions and low individual token value to facilitate everyday use without fractional payments.
