About Bitcoin Cash
Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is a cryptocurrency and a hard fork of the original Bitcoin protocol, launched in August 2017. Designed to function as peer-to-peer electronic cash, it increased the block size limit to improve on-chain capacity and transaction speed while maintaining lower fees compared to Bitcoin Core. By avoiding the Segregated Witness (SegWit) soft fork, Bitcoin Cash focuses on scaling through block size increases to preserve the essential qualities of money. In 2018, the network underwent another split, resulting in the creation of Bitcoin SV. The network also supports CashTokens, enabling the native creation of both fungible and non-fungible tokens and decentralized applications on its blockchain.
