About DASH
Dash (DASH) is a decentralized digital cash and open-source cryptocurrency designed for instant, secure, and low-cost payments. Launched in 2014 as a fork of the Bitcoin protocol, it was previously known as Xcoin and Darkcoin. Dash pioneered a two-tier network architecture featuring incentivized Masternodes that enable advanced features such as InstantSend for near-instant transaction settlement, ChainLocks for blockchain immutability, and PrivateSend for optional privacy. Operated as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), Dash is self-funded through a portion of its block rewards, supporting a global ecosystem of merchants and payment solutions.
