About Ethereum Classic
Ethereum Classic (ETC) is the native utility and governance token of the Ethereum Classic blockchain, a decentralized, open-source, and community-driven platform. It originated in 2016 following a hard fork of the original Ethereum network after the DAO hack, with its community choosing to preserve the original blockchain and the principle of "Code is Law." As a Layer 1 smart contract platform, it supports decentralized applications (dApps) and maintains a fixed monetary policy with a maximum supply cap, distinguishing it from Ethereum's inflationary model. The asset is secured by a Proof of Work (PoW) consensus mechanism.
