About FIRO
Firo, launched in 2016 as Zcoin, is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency designed to function as private digital cash. It is known for pioneering zero-knowledge proofs and has implemented several privacy protocols including Zerocoin, Sigma, Lelantus, and Lelantus Spark. The Lelantus Spark protocol enhances user confidentiality by hiding the sender, receiver, and transaction amounts. Firo utilizes a hybrid security model that combines Proof-of-Work (PoW) mining with a Masternode layer to provide network finality and protection against 51% attacks through ChainLocks and InstantSend. Additionally, it employs Dandelion++ to conceal the originating IP addresses of transactions.
