About PIVX
PIVX (Private Instant Verified Transaction) is a privacy-focused, decentralized open-source cryptocurrency and blockchain project. Launched in early 2016, it utilizes a custom-developed Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and a second-layer Masternode network to provide decentralized governance and near-instant transactions via SwiftTX. The asset's primary focus is user data protection, achieved through its SHIELD protocol, which is a highly customized anonymity solution based on zk-SNARKs Sapling. The native token, PIV, serves as a means of exchange, a reward for network participants, and a tool for governance through staking or locking in masternodes.
