About ORDI
ORDI is the first BRC-20 token launched on the Bitcoin blockchain via the Ordinals protocol. The Ordinals protocol, introduced by Casey Rodarmor in early 2023, enables the creation of Bitcoin-native digital assets by assigning a unique serial number (ordinal) to individual satoshis and inscribing them with data such as text, images, or video. Unlike typical NFT standards, Ordinals exist directly on the Bitcoin base layer without requiring a separate sidechain, Layer 2, or changes to the underlying protocol. ORDI serves as the primary utility and cultural token for the BRC-20 standard, leveraging the ordinal theory to enable fungibility and tradeability for inscriptions within the Bitcoin ecosystem.
