About QTUM
Qtum (QTUM) is a decentralized, open-source smart contract platform and value transfer protocol that combines the security of Bitcoin's Unspent Transaction Output (UTXO) model with the programmability of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). It utilizes a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and features an Account Abstraction Layer (AAL) to bridge the two architectures. Designed for business-friendly adoption, Qtum supports decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts that can be executed on mobile devices via light wallets. The network is governed by a Decentralized Governance Protocol (DGP), allowing community participants to vote on network parameters.
