About Avalanche
AVAX is the native utility and governance token of the Avalanche network, a high-throughput smart contract platform designed for scalability and sub-second finality. It is used to secure the network through a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus protocol, pay for transaction fees, and serve as the primary unit of account across Avalanche's specialized subnets. The ecosystem utilizes three primary chains: the Exchange Chain (X-Chain) for asset creation and exchange, the Platform Chain (P-Chain) for validator coordination and subnet management, and the Contract Chain (C-Chain) for EVM-compatible smart contracts and decentralized applications.
