About SUI
SUI is the native utility and governance asset of the Sui network, an innovative Layer 1 blockchain platform designed for high throughput and low-latency transactions. Built with the Move programming language and a unique object-centric data model, the token serves four primary functions: securing the network via a delegated proof-of-stake (PoS) mechanism, paying gas fees for transaction execution and on-chain storage, providing utility within ecosystem applications such as DeFi and gaming, and enabling on-chain governance for protocol upgrades. The token economy includes a storage fund mechanism to ensure long-term sustainability and fair compensation for validators, with a total supply capped at 10 billion tokens.
